I am a welder/fabricator with interests in woodworking and all things mechanical. I enjoy camping, occasionally get out fishing, kayaking, mushroom picking, and some-times hunting, so don't be surprised if some of my posts include ideas or gear reviews related to the above.
As a boy, I loved woodworking and liked to make things out of wood. When I first learned how to weld, I remember thinking "This is so cool, I can place a piece of metal anywhere I want on a sheet of steel and attach it without having to worry about screws or nails, or finding a stud.!" I'm just a guy with simple tastes who enjoys welding, appreciates good tools, a
nd likes to make stuff.
I especially enjoy seeing ingenious homebuilt tools and projects that people make themselves. I quite often "borrow" some clever idea that I've seen somewhere and make use of it for myself at home or in the shop. Its in that spirit that
I started this blog to showcase some of the stuff that I produce in my small shop.
I am pictured here working on a tugboat refit. (Not my shop!)
I hope you enjoy my blog!
